I'm Andrea Holland.

After years of working with global PR agencies and with large publicly traded companies, I decided to build my own practice. It wasn’t always easy, I made a lot of mistakes, and I learned a lot.

I’m here to teach you the most important things I learned along the way, that I wish somebody would have told me at the start.

From hiring your very first client….to firing your first client, from learning how to invoice and getting paid on time, from how to incorporate your business to what you need to know about taxes, I talk about it all.

I share tips to help you navigate the stressors of having your own business such as how to generate new business leads, how to hire and pay subcontractors, how to market yourself effectively and how to write a solid contract.

In this course, you will learn everything you need to know on the business side of starting your own public relations practice.

Press Release Template

A great press release serves three purposes:

Inform The Media. Let them know about your news in hopes that a reporter will see it and write an actual story about it.

Increase Your Online Presence. Having a press release out there helps promote your news online, via blogs, websites and social media by creating an online breadcrumb trail for when people google you.

Improve Your Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I know lots of companies who regularly put out press releases as a tool to create in-bound links to their websites.

This template has ALL the necessary sections so that you can draft your press releases like a Pro!

Media List Template

A media list is your lifeline to the press. It is a document that houses all information and research on your media publications and press. This includes reporters, bloggers, TV producers, freelance writers and editors across print, online, radio and television.

This template will be one of the first documents you go to when you are ready to send out your press release!

PR Plan Template

Your PR Plan is your blueprint for what you want to accomplish.

This template helps you set up all the necessary parts of your plan including your GOAL, your OBJECTIVE, your STRATEGY, your TACTICS, and your KPIs.

Every successful PR Campaign needs a plan. This template will help you organize everything in one place without having to create a plan from scratch every time.

The Messaging Template

Creating your messaging is creating your groundwork. It's making sure you have all the necessary ingredients to get started and ensuring you are preemptively solving for questions in your market, as well as for the media.

This guide will walk you through how to create messaging that can be used across ALL communications such as press releases, pitches, social media, website copy, and even sales copy, to make sure you are always "on message."

Press Release Distribution Guide

Now that you've written your press release, you want the right people to read it, see it and hear about it.

Your press release should be ideally timed and distributed alongside your first media story. This guide provides essential insight and several ways to distribute your press release.

Special BONUS: What NOT to Say To a Reporter

Reporters are usually professionals that know when and how to ask an uncomfortable question.
Don't get caught off guard!

Here are some pro-tips on what NOT to say to the media - before and during your interview.

Knowing to expect these questions in advance - and having the answers you want to give before you get put on the spot, will be the best way to establish connection with the reporter while you stay authentic and on-brand for your client.
